Early wakeup call and 1 hour drive to Paracas. Once here, we have a short drive to the peaceful private dock of Libertador Hotel from where we board our motor boat heading towards the Ballestas Islands also known as the little Galapagos. En route our boat stops to observe the hieroglyphic known as "The Chandelier" located on a steep hillside in the Paracas Peninsula. This enigmatic figure that can only be seen from the sea, holds many mysteries about its origin and function. Later in the Ballestas Islands we will see a great variety of marine animals in their natural habitat like a huge colony of sea wolves, Humboldt penguins and a variety of seabirds. We go through caves and rock formations that have been carved by the sea, wind and weather over time.  Back on mainland we drive to Paracas National Reserve which is one of the most important marine reserves in the world. We first visit the park visitor center and then walk on a trail to see the flamingos. Afterwards, we drive on a dirt road to some cliff top lookouts where we can admire the immensity of the Ocean and beautiful beaches. Day 13 Sacred Valley: Moray, Maras and Ollantaytambo

This morning we`ll set off on a tour to visit the Sacred Valley`s most impressive sites.  First we`ll reach Moray, one of the most unusual Inca sites, which seems to have been an agricultural experiment station to adapt crops to different temperatures. What calls powerfully the attention at Moray is the difference of annual average temperature between the highest areas with the bottom of the depressions, which manages to have even 15°C in the principal depression of approximately 30 meters of depth.

Then we continue to Maras, an impressive complex of salt extraction used since before the Inca time. During the dry season they fill the pans every 3 days with salty water that comes from a natural spring, once the water gets evaporated, they extract the salt they`ve been selling at the markets of the region since before the Inca times. For lunch we’ll enjoy a local & international cuisine buffet at Tunupa and after we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, an old Inca fortified village where we may observe some of the best examples of Inca architecture in the region. We’ll spend the night at a cozy hotel at Ollantaytambo. In the evening, we can walk around this beautiful village.
