An exciting and culturally diverse destination in southern Peru, Arequipa is the second largest city in the country. The historical city center of Arequipa, an UNESCO World Heritage Site has some of the most beautiful buildings in Peru, built with volcanic white ashlar (hence Arequipa’s nickname as the “White City”).

One of the most popular destinations in the region is the Colca Canyon, a wonder of nature proclaimed the deepest canyon in the world with over 4,000 m depth at certain points. The Colca valley is a wonderful spot for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking or horseback riding, as well as a favorite place for history-enthusiasts, photographers and people willing to relax and enjoy the several hot springs in the area. Above all, one of the main attractions of the Canyon is the opportunity to see the majestic flight of the Andean Condors.
