Since 2009, Peruvian Soul has been dedicated to showcasing the best of Peru while making a positive impact on the communities we visit. Our passion for sharing Peru’s beauty and traditions brought the Papanoel Trekero project to life in our very first year. Now, 15 years later, our commitment to spreading joy to remote corners of the country remains as strong as ever. This year, we’re thrilled to announce that Papanoel Trekero 2024 will bring the Christmas spirit to Luquina Chico!
Where are we heading?
Luquina Chico, Lake Titicaca
In 2024, Papanoel Trekero will make its way to the beautiful community of Luquina Chico on Lake Titicaca, one of the world’s highest navigable lakes. This small, traditional community on the Chucuito Peninsula in Puno is known for its stunning landscapes and the welcoming hearts of its Aymara people, who have upheld their ancestral customs for generations.
The Project
Over the years we’ve not only brought a Merry Christmas for more than 1500 kids but also could raise and fund the building of 2 tree nurseries in 2 rural schools that offer integral education to kids and youth, and the installation of a children’s playground within a local school.
This December, we’ll be bringing a memorable Christmas day to 150 elementary school kids of Luquina Chico and Karina. Our event will be packed with games, arts and crafts, music, and, of course, the much-anticipated arrival of Santa, who will have gifts for every child, as well as a school kit, setting them up for a successful school year.
